Tying the graphic design to the backend programming wasn't much of a challenge for this project mainly because the team kept the project simple. Fancy interfaces and heavy design elements often get in the way when presenting volumes of data. The team was able to keep the interface to the basics and control the look with some basic style sheets.
Of course, the web interface wouldn't have been as easy without the steady cooperation of the programming team to keep the data output consistent and easy for the web team to work with. Because of this, the ongoing maintenance of the application has been extremely easy, helping to keep costs under control for the two year contract.
